Default Marginally insane?

So.....I started noticing how tall the superhawk's final gearing truly is the other day (and even with it how it is it still power-ons in first, I love this bike).....

So, I decided to do something marginally insane, and order a 520 conversion kit, with a 15 tooth front and 44 tooth rear. (1 tooth down in the front, 3 tooth up in the back)

I'm thinking, power-ons in 3rd might be possible...

I had a +4 rear on my old 500 and that was fun as hell, went from no balls, to power-on in first gear, clutch in 2nd easily, and a hop in 3rd on the up-shift...

This should be equally fun, but much more scary....and no more throttle in first gear

I got it on a few weeks ago and have never really pushed more than 2/3 throttle in first gear, it just comes right up. Needs to be jetted so it stays down in 2nd gear, throttle response and torque is mush....but before the air filter, it would hover the tire through all of 2nd gear with me leaning on the bars...I don't like wheelies, they make you slower

I found the best gearing to be just +2 in the back, a good compromise between highway and fun. Mine clutches great in 2nd gear.

I take it back about not coming up in 2nd gear.... I ride leaned over on the bars so the bike stays pretty tame for me...but it'll come up at any point in the powerband in 2nd if I take pressure off the bars...and if I hit the clutch a little hard going into 3rd, in the same riding position it'll give me a nice bar-shake to let me know the front tire is dancing

All in all I LOVE this gearset....I'm a speed freak and it's already starting to feel a little slow to me...Im glad I didn't buy a 600 is all I have to say, I'd be shooting myself in the foot. Not to say 600's are slow, I'm not stupid, but I'm addicted to torque and flat-out pull and I have the feeling I'd be revving the crap out of that poor 600 on a daily basis to get that same rush
