Whats my VTR1000 worth?

I am trying to trade/sell my VTR so I can grab a CBR954 while there are still a few new ones around (I don't like the 1000). The dealer offered me $3000 which I feel is a little low, even though I know they need to make money too. Its an 02, Hindle carbon fiber exhaust, zero gravity windscreen, jetted, K&N, new Dunlop 208s. Bike has 3400 miles on it and is immaculate. The paint is absolutely perfect with no scratches, swirls, etc. What is something like this worth? Can I reasonably expect $6000 out of it private?

I think you could easily get 6 out of it. I bought my 98 last year for 5200, stock with 8700 miles on it. Sadly though, I won't be able to sell it for too much, now that there's 28,000 miles on it throw it up on ebay with a reserve, and see what happens. sounds like a nice find.

I just picked up a 98 Superhawk with 3088 original miles on it, never been rained on, dropped, ect for 5500.

They haven't really held their value too well, but $3k is pretty low ball.
