Default wheelie question

i just started to clutch up wheelies. getting used to the front end getting light. i had a question sometimes when i slip the clutch the rear wheel doesnt seem like its gripping the floor and just jolts forward and the rear wheel spins without gripping the floor much. my tires are about 75% thread life. im doing this all in first. i'll pop a few small ones but once in a while i'll get a big one and i want to know what is keeping me from being consistant. thanks!

a lot of different factors one of them if your going up hill it'll come up faster, if your going down hill you'll need to rev it a little harder, and could also be if your tires are warm or cold, if they're cold they'll spin a little more and grip less then when they're warm.

heat up your tires.

and stop doing wheelies on the floor, try doing them on a road.

Its you... Try to remember the RPMs and speed when you get the big wheels and duplicate it . Consistency will come when you do them more. If you are scared to crash you 'll never be consistent. Apply the I dont give a shit attitude. I can ride big arse wheelies on my zx9r but get really nervous when I hit BP on my 06 zx10 cause I dont wanna bust up my zx10. But it wheelies better and are alot smoother.

Consistency will come with practice. Those big wheelies you are talking about is probably about where you need to be. If I clutch my 1000 in first its crazy. I normally power up in first with no bounce. I clutch the hwy wheelies in 3rd and fourth. With you on a 6 you could equate the to 2nd and 3rd. Just a suggestion!

You wheelie your 1000 in third or fourth with no bounce on the freeway ? I Call bullshit. I can do third gear wheelies with my 06 10r but not without either a mean ass roll on or a bounce. Unless you are geared somewhere around -2 , + 4 . Im just -1 - Yosh system and pc III .But I do agree first gear wheelies are OUT OF THE QUESTion on my 06. My 95 zx9r I have to use first then shift up from there. But hell I run outta gas before I hit 4th gear. CARBURETED

I've seen a guy bring up a F4i in 3rd with no bounce and he's just -1 up front, also had a freind loop a 05 636 no bounce in 3rd, just straight clutch.
