Yeah don't change gears and stop the power wheelies. Learn to use the clutch or don't ride em'

Its way too early for you to even think about changing gears. Learn to balance a wheelie. Usually the ones u see shifting in a wheelie are the ones who cant balance it. As far as powering it up....different people learn different ways...do whatever you feel most comfortable with. I prefer the clutch but to each his own. The amount of gas in the tank doesnt really make that much of a difference. Remember to cover the rear brake just in case you need to bring it back down and keep practicing. Have fun

the only reason i thought it would be a little easyer is because of a little more weight to go back with.

don't worry about the few extra kilos from the gas weight. your bike has enough power to overcome this obstacle.

Learn to bounce second up. Thats what I've been doing lately and its really helping me find and hold my balance point. There's not as much torque as 1st so it seems a little easier to hold it up smoothly.

use the clutch, hit the gas whilst you're moving in second gear and let the cluth out quickly while hitting the rpms up.

you'll feel the bike start to lift, when you feel that, do it even harder the next time and when you feel yourself shit your pants becuase you've pulled your first wheelie in 2nd gear, then you know you got it.

practice practice practice form there. you won't have the problems where you bike is hitting 16000 rpms and you won't have the front wheel slamming into the pavement problem either because 2nd gear is a faster gear than first and you'll find that you can ride it longer thus giving you more time to practice your balance without having to babysit the throttle constantly.

OK, that was as basic as I could explain it. hope it helps.

Shady said it good for clutching.
If you want to bounce it, you need to get in the rpm range that has good torque, for me its about 5 grand or higher in 2nd. If you have a 600 then its going to be quite a bit higher than that. 1st, Stand up. 2nd, jump on your pegs as hard as you can. 3rd, as the suspension is starting to unload give it a hand full of throttle. It prolly won't come up the first time or even the first 10 times. It took me about an hour of trying it before it came up. Its all in the timeing of your jump/bounce and throttle. Now I've got it everytime, but I'm still working on getting the balnace point. I can ride them to about 100, when second gear is reved out, then I have to drop it down.

Good luck, take it slow, unless you want to learn fast LOL
