Default power wheelie

It seems like lately when I do power wheelies I'm gonna get tank slap. Usualy I crack the throttle, (to dive the front end) crack it again(to get it up) and sometimes if it doesn't come right up I try to just use the second pump to re-dive the front end, but it seems like when I do that , my bikes bars get slightly crooked and I start wobbling. Does anyone have any advice to improve this or is this just a common feeling? My bike used to have a dampner on it but the previous owner took it off n sold it. I wanted to get another one but I can barely afford the bike alone so at this point it would be difficult to afford one.

a 750 should be able to power up just fine. Try not leaning your body weight on your handlebars... keep your body centered, dont lean forward during the initiation of the power wheelie. If you can try to hug the tank with your knees to get some traction (so your ass wont slide to the back of the bike...). I wouldnt recommend learning to clutch until you are completely comfortable with power wheelies. If you dont have good throttle control and start clutching... its a quick way to go upside down...
