Default Consequences?

A couple of friends and I went out yesterday to try to practice wheelies. We have a usuall dead end road thats out in no where land, no houses nothing and a nice 3/4 of a mile straight. Well as we make our turn into this road theres a cop sitting on the side so we decide to jus cruise down to the end of the road and turn around.

My question is what kind of trouble am i looking at if i'm to get caught doing a wheelie? we have all our paper work, using gear and the road is deserted. He wouldn't be able to see us unless he drove down the road another mile or so and as we're heading out we notice the cop wasn't there anymore but we didn't want to chance it.

Well, its a public road so it really depends on the officer. Some will tell you its time to leave and knock it off. Others will give you a reckless and tow your bike. Others will sit and watch for a while and tell you to have fun. Just make sure that you behave in a respectful manner to them and let them know that you didnt want to do it in traffic. Dont do burnouts, and keep them slow and under control. Your best bet is to find a Privatly owned lot and practice there.

^ What he said. The officer has the discretion to do whatever he wants. It just depends on who you get as to how the situation will go. But if its not a public road then you're in the clear.

In Wisconsin we have a points system if you get 12 in one year you loose you license. A wheelie is considered reckless driving/ or endangerment. That is a 6 point ticket and around $375. Then if the cop wants to be a prick he might add inprudent speed which can be 4 to 6 points and $200 to $300. So it is possible one wheelie could cost you your license

your best bet is definatly to find a private property lot and practice there. Where I live AZ Honda motorcycle dealership signed a waver allowing any bike son thier property at any time, when they close at night we have a brightly lit massive parking lot to do whatever we please and cops cannot do anything.

every state and cop is different with rules for parkin lots, and +1 on the respectful attitude, i'm in the military, so i've learned how to bite my tongue, tell people what they want to hear, and be friendly. this has scored me alot more bees with honey than salt when dealing with cops.
