Default oww! you guys got my nuts crunched!

so I've been trying to do some wheelies but I need to do some work on the bike cause it just will not come up, (7k in 1st roll off then all the way on and it comes up maybe 10 inches IN 1ST) but thats for another thread. I have also been trying to do some burnouts so heres the senerio. I was almost home stop on a side street rev it to about 7k dump the clutch expecting the tire to spin was all ready for it and what happens??????????The front of the bike lifts up and jumps about a foot slams down and stalls. well of course my nuts take a bashing and I'm left scratching my head like what the hell. Can some one let me know why this happened.

You need more weight over the front. If you doing a "standing-still" b-out, use the front brake to keep the bike from walking forward. You also need to think about the rear tire's traction capabilites: even/rearward weight and not enough gas to overcome the rear tire's contact patch = holeshot/wheelie; weight over the front and enough gas to quickly break the rear tire's traction = burnout.

i think hes tryin to wheelie not burn out....if you look around man you will find about 100 posts on this topic....the only way to learn is to get out there and do it....nothing we will say can help you....i mean when it comes down to it its like getting a tattoo some people relax and go to sleep and others tense up and grit their teeth through it....what works for me may not help you at all...all i can tell you is to get to know your bike well, know where it starts to build power....also know that if you thump the clutch at a dead standstill its not going to wheelie its going to smash your tail light out and possibly crush you as it flips over.....I would learn slow and steady...it got me where i was stunting....take it easy bro

He said he was trying a burnout and it didn't work and was wondering why...

well, it's pretty simple. You didn't weight the front enough, the rear tire was to warm from riding already, and you didn't give it enough throttle. Not enough throttle is what caused the bike to stall when it came back down.

And don't "dump" the clutch. Hold the bike with the front brake and start to engage the clutch more and more until the rear breaks traction, then keep hold of the front brake and burn, burn, burn!!! Pull the clutch in when you're done. Did a nice one in the parking garage at work this morning, nice and slick so it doesn't quite eat my tire as quick.

ok that still didn't work but I got it to finally break traction. I had to feather the cluch to do it but then it broke without a problem. I also wanted the tires warm (temptnf8) so that the front wouldn't slide on me. So any way got the standing b-out down on to the next thing. I don't know if any one else was having trouble but it was just about getting the rpm's to about 8k and feathering the clutch out.
