Default rolling burnout

to do a rolling burnout should I:

1- do a burnout and slowly let off the break

or

2- ride about 10-15 mph and try to get it to spin from there?

I do your # 2 choice. Werks for me every time, but I can do it both ways. I guess it's really just preference and which way you feel comfortable.

definately #2 man, and maybe at first start your speed a little higher so you can really feel out the throttle/clutch, you don't wanna get your speed too low starting out, cuz it'll cause trouble. also really helps to lean up and forward just a bit to get your weight off the seat and sorta crotch onto the tank.

Start from a standstill get it rolling and ease off the brake. Learn brake control that way and then try from a roll. Go like ur gonna do a stoppie from whatever speed your at and drop the clutch.

so how would you go about doing #2? I have tried it with no success, and my tires are bald, so it should be easier. What I do is stand up, put pressure on the front, rev it up and let off the clutch. How high should I go with my rpms, if I am doing it right?

I don't know how comfortable you are on your bike but, I sist on my tank and do it. I bring the R's up to about 5-6k, mind you I ride a V-twin, at like 15mph get ready with the front brake and just blip the clutch ever so slightly. Keep in mind what Jonny said because if you don't have good brake control you WILL do a stoppie.

If done correctly, such as any experienced motorcycle drag racer. Static burnouts are not that difficult and proficiency comes easily. To become proficient:

1) Brakes must be in best working order.
2) On the front brake heavy!
3) Clutch at/near friction point.
4) Throttle at an rpm great enough to generate spin versus tire traction.
5) Slow & controlled feather or slide the clutch until control is obtained.

Practice makes perfect!

I don't know what kind of psi you are running in the rear, but more will let the tire break loose eaiser while you are learning.
