Default Track Days with Sportbike Tracktime

I can't believe that no one posts here. I have done 2 weekends (total of 4 days) with STT and have enjoyed it beyond comprehention!! (sp?) I did 2 days novice at mid-ohio and 1 day novice and 1 day intermediate at BeaveRun this past weekend. They really have a great organization and put on a wonderful experience. I thought i knew a lot before I went and realize I know a great deal more after 3 novice days of class. I have since moved to intermediate and never regret a moment of the time I spent learning in the novice group. Hats off to STT and if you are thinknig about a trackday, choose STT!!!

yep, I've ridden with them many times. They have some great folks and run a great trackday. I like that their Novice group has the classroom sessions, great for new trackday junkies.
I will say though, that I like NESBA's Intermediate/Advanced groups more than STTs, they are a lot more picky about who gets into the next group than STT is (with NESBA a CR has to bump you to the next group after reviewing your riding, STT you just sign up for whatever group you want). So NESBA usually ends up with faster and more experienced Intermediate/Advance groups

still a great org, just different methods

I signed up through STT this year, and haven't gotten to the track yet. Plagued by bike problems, I finally settled all my stuff, and I'm getting there ... NEXT MONTH. My job want's 30 days notice for a day off. Ugh.

Hey Myke, any advice? It's going to be my 3rd time on a track, and my first time with STT. Also, who took those shots?

I rode novice group to get to know the tracks before moving on to intermediate. It's really handy to know the fast line around. STT has a really good novice class and if you tell them (when they ask) in the novice group meeting (right after the riders meeting) that you are a fast street rider or have track experience, you can get into group #1 which is the fast novice group. I did it 3 times before moving on. Try to run smooth instead of fast and you will gradually get faster as the day goes on. It's a great time. The pictures were from the track photographer who is introduced during the riders meeting. Here is a video at BeaveRun of a camera on my gas tank, filming AlpineJim (another member) who is in front of me.
