That explains how the tracker knows its location

How does the tracker transmit that data to me and what is the battery life?

Very good AnthonyMatello....sounds like you read that somewhere as there are now 27 satellites orbiting earth with 3 in standby mode in case one needs to be replaced, etc. Accuracy is based on the type and quality of components inside the device...NOT ALL GPS Devices are created equal.
To answer your question F4sSprintST...the GPS Module inside the device picks up the location from the satellites in the sky and sends that location information to a communication module ( SIM Card ) inside and that information gets sent to you via text and ( or ) emails. The phone numbers and emails are chosen by you and preset in your personal account.
These types of devices have a wide range of prices based on quality, features & functions. For instance, some have stronger antennas inside that pick up better, some have better and more accuracte GPS tracking modules inside that pick up quicker and more accurately and 1 very important factor is the Tracking Site that brings it all together. Some are better than others. All in all.....it's the same old saying..."Sometimes you get what you pay for"
