Hey guys, as you probably know someone stole my Blue 2001 Yamaha R6 out of my condominium complex last night while I was asleep. I live in buckhead/sandy springs located in Atlanta GA. I dont have very many leads on who stole it and most of us who have already had a bike stolen before know that the chances of getting it back are pretty slim. Even with that being the case I still feel that it is worth the effort to do whatever I can just in case there is a slight possibility of spotting it. I have enlosed in this posting several pictures of what my bike looks like. The most distinct characteristics that separate my R6 from others are as follows:
1) The very bottom of the right and left farrings have the word "TYPE R" written in white letters. I have still not seen this on any R6 as of yet.
2) My bike has a custom silver and blue seat that I have still not seen on any other R6.
3) *****The Feature that stands out the most is the fact that my rims are chrome and have Blue Yamaha stickers laced around the inside of the rims. Out of every shop I have ever been too no one has seen another bike with those blue Yamaha stickers etched into the chrom wheels. Even if the guys who stole my bike change out the farrings and everything else but leave the rims, if you see those blue stickers in the chrome wheels 9 times out of 10 its got to be my bike! The very last picture of this e-mail shows a glimpse of what the sticker looks like in the rim.******
4) I currently have no rear view mirrors on it and put in some little circular mirrors on the plastic panels on both sides of the dashboard.
5) Even though this probably wont matter the license plate number is CY121H and the VIN # is JYARJ04E41A018017
6) Also there are 2 sets of YZF stickers on each sides of the farring that look like chinese characters written in big ass blue letters. I havent seen that on any other Yamaha's either.
If you all could please forward this info on to as many riders as you can to get them on the lookout as well I would greatly appreciate it and I will pay a very nice Rewards fee for anyone who can help me find it! I could go off and buy another bike but I'm just really attached to mine and I want to get it back! If you can help in any way with any information please let me know.
Thanks,
Brad Giles
