Default My license plate was stolen outside my work today

So I was at work. At 4pm I went out for a smoke and the license plate, fender eliminator and one of my spike bar ends was missing. Anyone else have this happen to them?

Just be glad they didn't take the whole bike. Report the lost plate to the Motor vehicle dept

Why would they take just one bar end?

I wondered that too. I had used locktite semi permanent on both and maybe they ran out of time.

I know this is very trivial in comparrison to losing a whole bike but I thought I would share it here since it was a lousey way to end my day.

Yes, about a month ago my plate and State inspection sticker was stolen.
Made sure to get a police report so I didn't get harassed on my way home.
In TX it ended up costing me 5.50 for the replacemet plate and 12.00 for the new sticker.

I think they were after the fender eliminator. The bar ends were probably an afterthought and they either got spooked or decided it wasn't worth the trouble.

I had this happen. My bike was parked outside under a cover. I imagine they either tried to steal it and couldn't (boxed in by cars) or decided it wasn't worth it (FZ6). They ended up breaking my rear fender to take the plate (registration and inspection in NJ go on the plate) and they also took my cover. I could only imagine they were using the plate and cover to steal another bike and ride it to their buddies house where they would put it under the cover out back. I immediately called the police and made a police report. It was a good excuse to put a fender eliminator on. It took a little while to get new plates and I was pulled over for no plates but gave them the police report number and I was on my way.

Had the same issue with someone stealing the temp tags. Reported it to the police and a few weeks later I got a call saying "We caught the guy, do you want your tags back?"

Definetly report though. If he was to get caught on camera doing something it would link to you if you don't.
