2 Suzuki Katanas Stolen North Tampa 12/7

Two Suzuki Katana's were stolen simultaneously from a condo parking lot on the morning of Friday, December 7th, 2007. The theft occurred between 4:30 AM and 11 AM, as the bikes were spotted at 4:30 and found missing at 11 AM. $500 Reward for any information leading to the recovery of the bikes or arrest & conviction of the perps.

Bike #1: 2001 Suzuki Katana GSX600F, blue. Very customized, very easy to spot. Telltales:

* Givi Luggage Racks;
* Raised European GSXF emblems on main fairings in place of Katana stickers;
* Front forks have emergency-grade red reflectors up the fork lowers;
* Custom Corbin Saddle in Blue-and-Black; side-panels and nose panel blue, welting blue, seat areas black;
* Ohlin Rear Suspension with remote pre-load adjuster on right rear passenger peg;
* Custom Dash-surround containing Oil Temp and Voltage gauges;
* Mirror extenders at base of stock mirrors;
* 04+ dual-bulb tail section & tail-light installed, does not have 98-02 Bumblebee tail any more. Tail fairings painted to match rest of bike;
* Chain Oiler (not highly visible);
* Underseat-area had secondary fuse-box & bracket, chain oiler pump, non-stock relays.

Bike #2: 2000 Suzuki Katana GSX750F, Burgundy/Candy Red. Almost totally stock. Telltales:

* Billet Tire Valves (red);
* Blue fairing piece directly under headlight stands out as out of place;
* Metzeler Z6 Tires brand new, rear is 160/60ZR17;
* Yoshimura SS exhaust pipe;
* fairings scratched, bike dropped;
* brake lever bent.
* Custom License Plate: NO GAME
* VIN: JS1GR7GA5Y2101072

Well, fortunately for me, neither was mine. But they are a couple of friends from another forum. One of them was one of those "all knowing encyclopedias of information" on the Suzuki Katana. He's helped out probably 1000's of owners.

Yeah, he helped me on SEVERAL occassions when I used to have my katana.

Apologies man, I wasn't paying attention to the forum. DUH.... A well deserved , just for me.

I guess I've become so accustomed to "750rider" posting reports from all over the place that I didn't connect the location report with your location listing. That'll teach me to go making assumptions....

I really do hope they nail the thieves, hopefully they'll resist arrest. A K-9 unit would make for a nice touch, too. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if these kinds of creeps got the sort of treatment that horse thieves once received.

Again, apologies for the misplaced (not to mention bad) attempt at a joke. Pardon me, while I go over and sit in the corner with my dunce cap on....
