I would say no, simply because he's still starting in the NFL.
With that said, he is probably the worst starting QB in the NFL right now. The guy looks like he can't throw the ball to anyone.
Through three games they have thrown for less than 360 yards...or less than 120 per game. That's ridiculous. By comparison, the Detroit Lions (a team that went 0-16 last year and is starting a rookie at QB) has thrown for 560 yards through three games...or about 190 yards per game. So a rookie QB is outhrowing Russell by nearly 70 yards per game???
I watched the game that Oakland played against San Diego...and other than the fourth down bomb in I think the fourth quarter, I was seriously unimpressed by his work on the field. He looked slow, dumb, and blind out there the whole time.
It's time for the Raiders organization to undergo so massive changes...

I think he is worse than Leaf. Leaf had the physical skills but was lacking the mental capability. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, the guy wasn't that good in college either. With 30 million guaranteed in his pocket he has no reason to get better.
How many head coaches has he had? How many offensive coordinators? What wide receiver did they pick in the 1st round this year? Who on that team would anyone else in the NFL want on theirs? He's not very good, but he hasn't really ever had a chance to get good either.

They have a good offensive line, a good set of running backs, and an excellent tight end. I don't see what any of those other factors have to do with his inability to throw a ball within ten yards of his receiver, or unwillingness to check down off his primary until he's more than 40 yards downfield.
I wouldn't say Russell is the bust. I'd say Oakland's coaching staff and management are the bust. Look at all the talent on that team just wasting away. Makes me sick to my stomach!
You start out motorcycling with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
Some people are like slinkies; they're good for nothing but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
