Default Anyone Up For an SBN Fantasy Football League For 2009??

If so, send me a PM and I'll give you the registration information.

It's going to be a Yahoo league, so we can have as many people as we want.

However, if we end up with 12 people that are interested, we can probably do a CBS league which has the free scoring and a lot of cool tools to use to manage your team.

How does that work? I mean...I've always wanted to do one. But last time I did. I wasn't there for the draft, and got the throwbacks. Do you have to be present for the draft? I can't make it middle of the day, cause I have dialup.

Nope, I've got it set up for an auto draft right now, which means that you get to set up a "list" of players that you would want to take, and then the system will automatically draft players that you want based on their availability.

I actually always use an auto-draft, even in leagues that have live drafts. It seems to work out pretty well, I've won about 4 or 5 championships in the last 5 seasons...

I usually even just leave my player list alone...that way it drafts the best available player according to the system whenever it gets to your turn to draft.

Send me a PM and I'll send you the signup information!!!

Huffy, I sent you a PM.

If everyone that has sent me a message signs up, we'll be at 8 right now. So that means there's still room for a few more, I think.

Alright guys, we've got 8 players which means we've got a league.

I've still got a few slots open, so if anyone else wants to join they can.

However, I need some input from you guys now. We're just using standard scoring and positions, but a few things in the league are up for discussion.

Do we want the standard four team playoff system in weeks 15 and 16?? Or would we want to do a six team playoff with weeks 14, 15, and 16. The #1 and #2 seeds get a bye in the first week with that system.

Do we want divisions, or just standard round robin??

With just 8 players I would think regular playoff would be good enough. Normally by the end of the season you can tell who has the better teams, however if there were at least 12 players I would say do a 3 week playoff.

As far as divisions I don't think it would matter unless you can set a number of teams per division. Say 4 divisions 2 per division but that don't leave alot of room for competitiveness to win division. The only other way would be 2 division with 4 in each. That wouldn't be so bad.

Im surprised there are not as many taking part. Where is sloppy this year? I sent a text to jluu6r about it but he said he sucked at ff. What about Ghost, R1?

I think they're all hanging out over at the other site.

I've asked a couple of guys from work if they want in, and one is signed up now. I'm going to show him how to sign up for SBN on Wednesday so he can join the conversation in here at the very least.

The ONLY down side to having divisions is that it determines who gets into the playoffs and things like that. Example, say we end up with 12 teams and we do a two division system. The top team from each divison automatically makes the playoffs. So say we did a four team playoff with a two division system. Say that in Division A the Winner is 13-1. The second place team is 12-2. The third place team is 11-3. The fourth place team is 11-3. But the Division B Winner is only 10-4. That means that even though the fourth place team in Division A is out of the playoffs simply because they didn't win the division.

Now, I'm not saying that anything like this WOULD happen, I'm just saying that it could. I know in a four division system last year that I was in one of the division winners made the playoffs despite having a much worse record than one of the second place guys.
