Alright guys, I'm getting ready to close it up. I think we've got 20. I invited a few guys that I work with to fill it out, and the team "Doppel Gang" is one that I set up for my dad. I'm going to show him how to play, because he said he didn't want to do it unless I helped him out. He'll probably beat us all, because I have a feeling he's sand bagging me...but oh well.
I also think that I will in fact switch to the WR/TE option for one reason. That being that I don't really know if there are 20 tight ends in the NFL that are really worth picking up to get points. So if you give managers the option of putting in another WR, that gives chances for more points, so I think we'll go with that.

Alright guys, since we're going to have so many teams, I changed the Tight End spot to a WR/TE/RB position.
That way if you don't manage to get a TE or more than three WR worth a shit in the draft, you've got some room to work.

Im confused, didnt we have 20 members a few days ago? did someone drop out?
No, it's been 19 for a while now. Exodus has been trying to join, but for some reason he can't get or send PMs, so I had to e-mail him the info when he texted me.

Alright guys, now that we have 20 teams, I need a bit of input AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE so that we can get the draft all set up.
Since our league is so big...this is by far the biggest league I've been in...we have two trains of thought as far as the rosters can go.
We can leave it pretty much the way it is, QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 DEF, 1 KICKER. That's how it is right now, which is very close to standard except I have changed TE to RB/WR/TE. The reason for that change is because some of us didn't really feel that there are 20 impact tight ends in the game, so this gives you an option if the tight ends you have available aren't really big scoring guys.
The only problem I see with leaving the league like this is that it's going to force teams to really micromanage and possibly scrounged "leftover" players at times. With that setup and the amount of teams we have, you would basically need 40 running backs, 60 wide receivers, and 20 other of those players to be effective every week in order for players to get points. Now, I don't really have any kind of problem with that. I can get down with going deep in rosters to find third down backs who get carries or short yardage goal situation receivers that get TDs. But I know that some people are that into that type of stuff and just want to play the game.
So, if we would rather go a route that's probably going to be very competitive but not require constant checking of situational stats, this is what I'm proposing as a possible replacement: 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 DEF, 1 KICK. That lowers the number of impact players required for a team to get good points every week. It also makes it so that the chances of every team having a good set of players AND a couple of good subs is more likely. This way, instead of needing to find 40 running backs every week that are going to get points, you really only have to have 20 RBs getting points. And instead of 60 wide receivers, you only need 40...and so on.
So basically, I need to know what you guys think. Go for standard roster and dig deep and manage a lot and have to worry about situational (3rd down, short yardage, 4th down) type players?? Or should we go for the modified roster that will be easier to find good players, probably leave better options out there if one of your guys gets hurt, and probably just be a bit more fun all around??
Let me know what you think...preferably as quickly as possible. I'd like to get the draft done in the next few days.
Thanks.
Jeff

Alright guys, I'm having some issues with the divisions thing.
I was trying to set us up with three divisions, but I couldn't get the scheduling to work out correctly. I wanted each division to play everyone in it's own division once then just random other games. It kept working for two divisions...they'd all play each other once...but then the third division had a bunch of players not playing each other in the division.
So for now I have just scrapped divisions altogether. There's not really much point in having them if they don't have any kind of meaningful aspects...like not playing everyone in the division.
I'm not really sure what would happen if we switched it up to four divisions. Then each team would probably play each other once...but I'm still not 100% sold on divisions in the first place.
Thoughts??
