Question is if Julio Lugo will go to the bench or be traded to make room for A-Rod at short-stop for Boston...

Rodriguez opts out of $252 million, 10-year contract with Yanks

DENVER -- Alex Rodriguez opted out of his $252 million, 10-year contract with the Yankees on Sunday in what appears to be the end of his career with New York.
Alex Rodriguez has an impressive career resume, which figures only to grow.
Rodriguez's decision, announced by agent Scott Boras during Game 4 of the World Series, makes him eligible to become a free agent.
Rodriguez loses the final $72 million in guaranteed salary in the contract, of which $21.3 million was to be covered by payments from the Texas Rangers to the Yankees. New York had said it would not attempt to re-sign A-Rod if he opted out.
Boras said during a telephone interview Rodriguez made his choice because he was uncertain whether Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada and Andy Pettitte would return to the Yankees.
"Alex's decision was one based on not knowing what his closer, his catcher and one of his statured pitchers was going to do," Boras said. "He really didn't want to make any decisions until he knew what they were doing."

Because quite honestly A-rod is a fucking cancer. Sure he hits homeruns (during the regular season) so he can help you get to the playoffs, but he can't help you win. A frankly he's an overpaid baby.
"A-Rod went 4-for-15 (.267) with one RBI against in the Yankees' first-round playoff loss to Cleveland and is in an 8-for-59 (.136) in the postseason dating to 2004."
Dodgers?
I hate baseball, but I had fun at an Angels game. I think it would make it interesting for baseball haters to have some big names wear Cali blue. I'd go to a few games just for the fun.
