I would have to imagine that they'll adopt the UFC rules, simply because I think some of the Pride rules (stomps to the face, elbows coming down) are actually against the law here in the States...I may be wrong, but that's why a friend of mine told me that the UFC doesn't allow those moves.

I don't know...I guess that'll depend on if they have two seperate "conferences" like in Major League Baseball which each has it's own set of rules, or if they completely merge to form one league with universal rules.

i'd rather have knees in there and ufc take out elbows to the head. elbows suck. and some fighters have admitted that their whole strategy during a fight is to cut someone open with their elbow strikes to cause a stoppage.

From what I heard, Pride will continue operating in the same fashion it is now. As will the UFC. The only difference will be a once a year event where the top fighters from each organization will compete in a "Superbowl" type event. But while checking for a source, I also saw the UFC lightweights will be competing with the Pride lightweights in their GP. I also heard Fedor will no longer be in Pride because he has a contract with Bodog.
