Default Mirko's UFC Debut.

Anybody watch the UFC PPV this past weekend??

Cro-Cop looked like a fricken puma stalking it's prey in his fight. Awesome.

How many matches before he gets a title shot at that tub of lard Sylvia??

Lots of good fights this past weekend. On the whole, the entire card was excellent. Anderson Silva's fight was great...what an awesome triangle he threw on Lutter.

Crocop is the single reason why I'm going to start watching UFC. The guy is an animal!!!

Yup. He's probably the best fighter in the world. MAYBE Fedor is better. But I think that Mirko is quite a bit more explosive.

He's going to run over his opponents in the UFC. After he's done at heavyweight, he might just lost some weight and take care of all the guys in the light-heavy division.

I missed this thread but I did watch the fights. I was pretty pissed Lutter screwed up on his weight. I was confident he was gonna lose anyway but I still wanted to see a title shot. I was kinda impressed with his performance though.

I was suprised Rampage didn't finish quicker. He said he was a little nervous so I think that had something to do with it. He'll be the champ soon.

Mirko is amazing. I'm also suprised it went as long as it did. You could tell Sanchez was terrified of the guy and I don't blame him. I still can't make up my mind if he is better than Fedor or not. IMO, he will not be fighting Silvia for the title. Couture will demolish him and then Mirko will put Randy back into retirement and take his belt at the same time. When the commentators brought up the possibility of a Coutore/Mirko matchup, it seemed to me Randy was a little hesitant about answering as if though he was worried about the idea.

There's more differences than that, but I'm sure you're just speaking in general.

To me, Pride seems to be quite a bit more hardcore than the UFC. They allow a few things that the UFC doesn't, and the Pride matches have longer first rounds...which forces the fighters to be a bit better conditioned in my opinion.

+1. In pride you can kick and knee to the head when the other fighter is on the ground--big difference from the UFC. I believe UFC had to revamp its rules because it was banned (maybe still is) in many states because it was too "barbaric."

And a 10 minute round will force anyone to get into awesome shape!

Yup, the kicking and such on the ground is one of the biggest differences. I've seen some fights where Mirko just starts stomping on some dude's head while the dude is on the ground. Hardcore.

They need to prove themselves in UFC before anything huge happens. Regards how you are in one sport; you have to make yourself popular in the other one. Sure PRIDE and UFC are the same, in general, but with them being two different organizations you still have to prove yourself.

2 fights minimum before they get a title shot, and I would argue that these won't be in count of the 2 fights. Therefore, it would be 2 additional fights before anyone gets a shot....at least this is how I think they will do it

head stomps and kicking when down all the stuff pride does that UFC doesnt is cause of the nevada state athletic commission...when pride comes back in 2 weeks(ill be there in vegas) they will have the same rules as UFC and even same reff's as far as cro cop and the title...it would be a shame to see someone killed in the ring, but if randy is dumb enough to fight cro cop its basically a death wish and will be most likely his last fight ever seeing as how he will easly kill silvia who is just a big oger with no real game just size...rampage didnt right like rampage, he didnt even act the same way u could tell when he came in he was nervous as hell but he will get a shot at chuck prob early summer and will be a good fight and chuck will prob get rapped by a big black guy infront of thousands of fans hahahaah

Rampage isn't even one of the top contenders at 205 in Pride. Shogun Rua, and Wanderlei Silva kicked his ass already.. and btw Fedor Emiliananko destroyed Mirko Crocop.. Fedor is the best fighter of all time..

Pride isn't going to get rid of their #1 fighters.. They let the B rated fighters go.. big deal.. Chuck lost to Rampage back in the day , but right now Chuck would destroy Rampage end of story..
