It's just another stat that they keep for no reason.
I think there are probably about 100 stats in every major sport that could just go away.
I think baseball is the worst...I mean, they can tell you in baseball how well a player hits on the third pitch of the fourth inning against left handed pitchers who have a stomach ache. It's recockulous.

i kind of like the hang time clock. did you guys knows the term hang time came about thanks to ray guy? that dude was bad ass, the only punter drafted in the first round. he was such a bad ass, they actually took a football he punted and tested it for helium. saw a mythbuster episode about it and i did a little research on him after that.
