Default Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell

This seems to be the question on everyone's mind right now regarding the NFL Draft.

Which QB do you think the Raiders will choose?? Which do you think will make for a better player in the NFL??

My beloved home town Lions have the second pick, and either of these guys, I guess, will do. However, I think that Matt Millen will probably pick Calvin Johnson out of Georgia Tech, because it seems all that the Lions know how to draft are wide outs.

After Notre Dame's embarssing bowl game, it's tough to pick Quinn, who I thought would be the favorite. They'll go for Russel.

If i was the GM for the Raiders i would select Brady Quinn with the #1 pick because he is the most NFL ready QB in the draft and the Raiders need a qb to throw to Randy Moss ASAP.

Matt Millen still has a job????? If Millen picks a WR with the #2 pick then he needs to be fired on the spot. I think he takes JaMarcus Russell with the lion's 1st pick. Russell can sit behind Kitna a couple of years and learn the offense, Kitna is not a yungster anymore.

I would have to say JaMarcus also, however Colt and Brady are great picks as well. The dolphins needs to make a trade with someone and get a new QB cuz this whole Dante and Joey thing isnt goin as well as the blueprints looked haha

I don't understand why the guy still has a job. The Ford's won't fire him simply because of the fact that the Lions are still making money. They sell out every home game and every season they consistently have some of the highest rated TV games in the league.

But they have to realize that people want a winning franchise. There is ALOT of pressure on them now due to what the Tigers did this year. Now, every team in Detroit has won a league championship of some kind in this decade. The Red Wings in 2002, the Pistons in 2004, the Tigers (AL Championship) in 2006. The Lions are the ONLY Detroit team that doesn't have a championship of some sort in the last 5 years or so.

Now, the other thing I don't understand is WHY Millen won't QUIT himself?? He can't possibly think he's doing a good job. He has to look around and see how horrible his team has been and realize that he's not doing very well as a GM. I would think that would be enough to make him want to step down, but last week he said that he would "never" quit...

...so basically, us Lions fans are stuck in this rut until he dies or William Clay Ford dies...

This is interesting to me, because I simply don't see Brady Quinn being the most NFL ready QB right now.

I'm just curious, what are you basing that on??

The guy hasn't shown much ability to win big games. He hasn't shown much ability to deal with pressure well. He hasn't shown much ability to make good decisions in big games.

I guess maybe I just don't see him as a great QB...

I say that because of the Notre Dame's complex prostyle offense. I see Brady Quinn as MAYBE, MAYBE..........the next Tom Brady.

I guess I'm gonna have to disagree wholeheartedly with you. Notre Dame's offense wasn't fooling anyone this year. And they surely weren't running it with pro-style effeciency.

They ran the exact same type of offense that numerous other college teams run...the only difference is they weren't able to win any games that mattered!!

P.S. I hate Notre Dame and Charlie Weiss...fuckers...

Did Russell annouce if he's coming out or not?

Assuming he did I'm going to say that Oakland will pick him. Al Davis loves qb's that have athleticism and a big arm and Russell definitely has both of these attributes over Quinn. Just look at last year. Oakland said that if Vince Young was available to them they would draft him. When it was their turn to pick, Vince Young was gone but Matt Leinhart was still available. Instead of taking Leinhart they picked Saftey Michael Huff.

^^

I do believe that Colt Brennan is staying in school. I may be wrong, but that's the last that I heard.

YEP, and,,,,,, NOPE. Sucks, but I knew it would happen.

Here's the story from the AP. Also notice the more pressing issue that LSU will be facing next year (It's in the color GOLD). At least he didn't go to be with Nick Saban in Alabama.

LSU Quarterback Russell Going Pro
By MELINDA DESLATTE
Associated Press Writer

January 10, 2007, 7:16 PM EST

BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell said Wednesday he'll skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.

"It kind of hit me toward the end of the season that I was going to make that jump," Russell said at a news conference.

After a standout performance in the Sugar Bowl last week, the 6-foot-6, 257-pound Russell had been expected to declare early for the draft.

Russell, a native of Mobile, Ala., threw for 6,525 yards and 52 touchdowns in three seasons with LSU, two as a full-time starter. He threw for 332 yards and two TDs in the Sugar Bowl to help the Tigers (11-2) beat Notre Dame 41-14.

Had he stayed, Russell would have been considered a strong Heisman Trophy contender. He also would have been under the oversight of a new offensive coordinator after Jimbo Fisher accepted Florida State's coordinator job.

"We gave him every bit of information that might allow him to choose -- either go or stay," coach Les Miles said.

He said he thought Russell and his family made a good decision and predicted Russell could go as high as No. 1 in the draft.

Russell, who brought his family to the news conference, said he hadn't yet signed with an agent. When asked what his draft preference was, Russell replied, "Whoever picks first and whoever pays the most."

His departure starts a two-man competition to replace him between Matt Flynn, who will be a senior next season, and Ryan Perrilloux, who will be a sophomore. Miles said Flynn had the edge for the job, but he wouldn't decide until after spring practice.

Russell faced a Jan. 15 deadline to declare for the draft.
