im not sure they got shafted, i mean they are good but they had 2 circus plays that helped in that win. i love watchin them cuz they are exciting but until they start playin teams with the caliber the rest of the teams in the top 25 play they shouldnt be number 1. they are well on their way to contention though cuz every year they go up little by little

I was reading an article today that was talking about basically taking the top four teams in the BCS at the end of the season and having them play in two of the four rotating BCS bowl games...the Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, and Orange. These two bowls would change every year, example, one year would be the Sugar and the Fiesta (the other two would still be played as BCS bowls, however, they wouldn't be the "Championship Playoff."
Then, of these top four teams playing in two of these games, the winners of the two games would then move on to play each other one week later in the BCS Championship game. It would only add one game to the season of a team that would move into this game, and that could be counteracted by limiting teams to only 11 regular season games to begin with, instead of twelve. You could also add to that a stipulation that if your conference plays a "Conference Championship" game, you can only schedule 10 regular season games. That way, none of these teams will be playing more than 12 games, and we would have a bit better system for having a champion.
Like, I'm not 100% sure, but I think that BCS rankings this season (before the BCS games) was:
1. Ohio State
2. Florida
3. Michigan
4. LSU
You would pair those teams up 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3, and let them play, then the winners would play each other for the National Championship.
It's not the greatest situation, but it's a bit better than what we have now, and I like it...but I'm just a fan.
