Superbowl thoughts.
Well I think Baltimore is the only team in the AFC that is capable of beating San Diego, so its one of those 2 for the AFC. The NFC is another story, I think Chicago is strong, but so is New Orleans...

I'm not feeling it. Sorry, but a buddist in the family doesn't make you open-minded. It just means you're bangin' a buddist.

Chicago isn't going to win the Super Bowl...not with Rex Grossman at the helm...and not with any of the other hacks they've got backing up Grossman.
I'm sticking with Indy for the win...but I'm beginning to wonder what the Patriots will do.

My prediction is San Diego versus New Orleans in the Super Bowl. Indy ain't going to get there with their pitiful excuse for a Defense. Chicago isn't going to get there with Grossman running the show and with their Defense struggling as of late.
You start out motorcycling with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

Honestly that's what I think too...SD vs NO for the Bowl...
But, I've got to stick to my guns and ride with Indy...I've been saying them all year and I can't really change now.
But, if it's not Indy, then I hope it's SD. I just really don't want to see Baltimore or New England in there...
And on the NFC side, I really don't think anyone is as good as the Saints. Yah, the Bears record is better, but they aren't a better team...they just play in a weaker division...hahaha...I mean, come on, the Vikings, Lions, and Packers are all good for 6 wins by the Bears...

Yah, but what are Chicago's other wins??
A win over a Seattle team that's not very good this year, especially when they don't have Hasselbeck or Alexander.
A win over the Bills...need I say more??
A win over Arizona that took two defensive TDs, one of which shouldn't have even been called a fumble.
A win over a mediocre San Fran team. San Fran is young and wasn't expected to do much this year, let alone against a good team.
A win over a Giants team that was struggling ALOT when they played.
A win over the Jets...and the Bears only mustered 10 points.
A win over a bad St. Louis team.
A win over a horrible Tampa Bay team that ended up needing overtime.
Now, I picked the Bears at the start of the season. But I really don't think they can win it with Grossman playing so inconsistently. In the playoffs the one thing a team needs is a consistent quarterback, and I just don't think Grossman is gonna get it done for them.

Seattle won their division this year.
The Bills are in the AFC
Arizona will be a good team soon, once they find a defense.
San Franciso does suck
The Giants were 6 and 2 when they played the Bears and had won 5 straight
The Jets are in the AFC and could be in the playoffs. They're not a bad team
St. Louis is mediocre and Tampa Bay sucks.
I'm not disagreeing with Grossman being inconsistent, but Griese is a very good backup, he Ranks 14th in NFL history with a career passer rating of 84.8, completing 1,463-of-2,318 passes for 16,344 yards, 103 TDs and 78 INTs. I'm not worried about him being capable. He's just injury prone.
As far as the defense goes, I think the last few weeks have been sandbagging it. They've done many things far too different to not be, IMHO. They've been doing a ton of edge blitzes and different schemes that they weren't earlier in the year. This may be due to the loss of personell as well, but I don't think that's all of the reasoning.

I know which teams are in the AFC and which teams are in the NFC. I'm not sure what gave you the impression that I didn't. If you look closely, those wins are all of the wins that the Bears had that were not in the NFC North.
And Griese may be a capable backup, but switching to him IN the playoffs is going to work how?? I don't think many people will argue that the Bengals were a better team than the Steelers last year, but when Carson Palmer went down they simply couldn't get it done...even though Kitna is a capable backup...
**EDIT**
I must also touch on this. Arizona will be a good team about as soon as the Detroit Lions are a good team. Arizona needs a whole lot more than a defense to become a .500 team, let alone a good team.
They have taken a guy that's averaged about 4.4 yards per carry between 2003-2005 and reduced him to a 3.4 yard per carry guy.
They've also had that same guy go from averaging about 7.7 yards per catch between 2003-2005 and reduced him to 5.7 yards per catch.
Arizona need everything...a coach, an offensive line, a defense, some special teams...about the only thing that they really have is a serviceable QB in Leinart, and a great recieving corps.

You responded to my post that said the Bears were 11-0 in the NFC.
Which was in response to this:

That was my point. 6 wins were in the NFC and NOT in their division and 5 were in their division.

Look at what Garcia is doing. He was good from the get-go. A sub can do well, if you've got the right one.

Two Pro-bowl caliber receivers, a young QB that looks fairly impressive, Edggerrin (I don't know how to spell it) in the backfield. I think they've got a good offensive nucleus. They do need to run block better, but they pass block fairly well. With a decent defense, they'd be a lot better. They weren't getting blown out in games, for the most part. They'll be good if they get some defensive pickups in the offseason and shitcan Dennis. Although, my "Crown their ass" t-shirt would never exist, were it not for him.
The Lions are MUCH further away. They have one receiver and a serviceable QB, a decent O-line and two defensive ends that are pretty good.
Although their biggest liability is the shittiest GM in football.
