In case you haven't noticed, the Titans have won two HUGE back-to-back games, both of which they were underdogs and both of which they were heavily picked to lose.
But in both games, the Titans found a way to win. Two weeks ago they rallied from 21 points down in the fourth quarter to beat the Giants. This past week, they hung on to take down the AFC juggernaut Colts. My question is now this: Are the Titans in the playoff hunt or am I asking for too much?

I think you may be asking too much considering its the AFC, if was the NFC I would think you guys would have a shot if you could comeback and finish 8-8. I really do enjoy watching Young get it done and all I got to say is look out next year.

Although I've liked the Titans for a long time, the chance of them making the playoffs is slim to none, simply because of what's already been said...they're in the AFC.
There are currently NINE teams ahead of the Titans.
Patriots 9-3
Jets 7-5
Ravens 9-3
Bengals 7-5
Colts 10-2
Jags 7-5
Chargers 10-2
Chiefs 7-5
Broncos 7-5
Now, the playoffs work by giving each division champion an automatic playoff spot, and then there are two Wild Card Spots.
We KNOW that the Titans can't get an automatic spot based on winning a division, because there are only 4 games left. Even if they win all 4 they'd still be one game behind the Colts. So division winner is out.
Now, in order for them to claim a Wild Card spot, they'd have to win out. Even that would only put them at 9 wins. So even if they won out, you'd have to have ALOT of other teams lose the majority of their remaining games in order for the Titans to make it in.
Granted, they do have 2 games left against teams that are ahead of them...I just think it's asking a bit much for them to make it into the playoffs.
But Jeff Fisher is a spectacular coach...give him another season with V.Young and a few more free agents, and the Titans will be one of the teams to watch out for again.

The fact that VY is a rookie and that this isn't their year to make it in has been my argument with my diehard friends.
Don't get me wrong- I'm a hardcore Titans fans, but I'm also sensible.
I would have to say though that Bud Adams is willing to dig deep in his pockets for a few high-quality free agents, especially on defense, to win him a ring before he croaks.
If we had at least one more "good" corner or safety, we'd be a lot better off.

Well, I don't know what the Titans situation is as far as the salary cap goes...but they could use a few key players.
A good cover corner would be nice...but I think one of the things that they need is a "name" at wide out. If they had a big time wide receiver that had the ability to stretch the field, then that would give them another dimension to their offense that is much needed.
Without any good guys catching the ball, Vince Young is in for a career similar to Michael Vick.

that is the truth. ill tell u what, i watched vick play in person at VaTech a few times and he is nasty it is just nuts to watch him blow past people and juke their shoes off and when he does step in and throw the ball he looks so effortless but the ball is a frozen rope or he can wing it 60 yards with a flick of the wrist. i personally think his problem is more mental. while he is scanning his first and second choice receivers he is also looking for a way out if he gets in trouble and by time he looks up to his 3rd and last receiver its either to late or he has to force a throw. QBs like Marino, Favre and those type never even look at the LBs to see if they had an option to run so they had one less thing to worry about

I think this is the best explanation on Vick I've heard. Spot on!

From what I've seen in person of VY, he needs a lot of help in the throwing department. At times I question his accuracy. If I could find the numbers, I'm sure they would show that of the balls he's thrown over 20+ yards, he's missed the vast majority of them.
I think if he can focus on throwing this upcoming offseason, he'll be a tremendous weapon. Our wideouts aren't top tier, but they are a solid bunch. Having a big name wouldn't hurt, but why spend all that $$ to get one and rarely use him? I'd much rather stack the defense with high-caliber players any day.

I agree that Young's accuracy is questionable. It's been that way all through college and now into this year.
I think that Mike Vick has lost alot of his accuracy too.
These two quarterbacks are VERY similar in style of play and skill...I just hope that Young doesn't end up having a lackluster career like Vick seems to be. Sure, Vick's on the highlight reel every week, but rarely do you see his name in the top end of stat categories.
