Exclamation USC jumped Michigan...

If they beat UCLA, they go to the big dance...If they lose, I think the Wolverines will go...I don't think Florida will gain enough points to overtake them...

I don't know...they were talking today on ESPN that if Florida goes out and beats Arkansas, they should gain enough points to pass Michigan as well...

I think Michigan is gonna need both Florida AND USC to lose in order to get another shot at Ohio State...and that's probabaly the right thing. Pollsters will have alot of second thoughts about having a rematch for the National Championship...

...oh how we need a playoff system of some sort...

When USC starts playing some real teams every week like the SEC...then they might deserve a shot...Florida is getting ripped...

Usually, I'm in full agreement on this type of statement...

But USC played quite an impressive schedule this year...Check out below...They did some things that not even Michigan or Florida can lay claim to...

USC only played 2 teams with a losing record all year long (Stanford, Wash8ington)...4 teams they played this year still remain in the top 25...

Florida played 3 teams with losing records, and after the Arkansas game, 3 teams they played still remain in the top 25...

Michigan is a joke to be number 2...They played 5 teams with losing records, which is almost half of their schedule...3 teams they played still remain in the top 25...

I hate to admit it, I mean, I really hate to admit it, but USC might actually be the right team to play OSU...

However, I still hate the BCS and am in full support of a playoff system ASAP!!

Dude, you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. Look through the sports forum here and find my thread about why the SEC is weak...buncha lackluster teams that get fat off of weak ass non-conference schedules, then proceed to not have any sort of offense and beat up on each other.

But L8 is right on most of his examples (he's wrong on how many teams USC has played that remain in the Top 25 at the end of the season, and on how many teams USC played with a losing record...Stanford and Washington both have losing records)...USC has done ALOT of things that none of the other contenders have done...including playing 10, that's right TEN, teams that will most likely be invited to bowl games.

Those NINE wins over bowl eligible teams include convincing victories over:
Nebraska, who with a win this Saturday will be the Big 12 Champion and in a BCS game

Arkansas, who with a win this Saturday will be the SEC Champion and in a BCS game (and it wasn't just a win over Arkansas, it was an absolute, no doubt about it, honest to god ass stomping...how's that SEC clowns?? Your teams are so great, and you want to bitch about USC jumping Florida, but the one of your teams that scheduled an actual strong opponent got DESTROYED by the Trojans)

Notre Dame, who will probably be selected by the BCS as an at large team and will play in most likely the Rose Bowl

That's TWO wins over teams that have opportunities to play in BCS games, and ONE win over a team that is probably in no matter what (Notre Dame).

Here are the teams that USC beat this year that are ranked at the end of the season:
California, 21
Nebraska, 19
Notre Dame, 12
Arkansas, 8

Add to that the fact that Oregon State, the one team that beat USC is actually #24 in the BCS standings, and you have THE TOUGHEST schedule in college football, by a LANDSLIDE.

In closing, Florida is in no way getting ripped...Florida is one of the weaker teams in the SEC, and the SEC is the most over rated conference in college football. Florida has impressive wins over non-conference foes Central Florida, Southern Miss, Florida State and Western Carolina...come on, Western Fucking Carolina?? What kind of #4 team in the land gives themselves a non-conference schedule like that?? Not one of those teams was ever in the mix in their conference...let alone the national stage.

The Gaytors in no way, shape, or form deserve to play Ohio State for the National Championship...Ohio State would absolutely destroy them, and would make them look like a team from a non-BCS conference.

USC is the team that needs to play Ohio State for the National Title. If not USC, then Michigan...but I think that Michigan already got their shot, and couldn't pull out a win, so it's time to let someone else give it a try, and with their strength of schedule and resume of impressive wins, USC is definitely the team to do that.

I'll just say this about this statement...I cannot remember the last time any major sports news agency didn't agree that the SEC is the strongest conference in college football...And their life is college football, every day, all day, 7 days a week....That means they're probably pretty educated on who they think is the best...

My life is typing these post on SBN about sports...I think they have a leg up on me, so I'm going with them...

All in all, it dosen't matter...When the bowls are done, we can have a much more objective way to say who's better than the others...

The SEC is just the in-thing right now. The people that write about sports always have something that they are bandwagoning on. Vince Young, Duke Bluedevil hoops, the Pittsburgh Steelers last year, the Dallas Cowboys now that Romo is the QB.

The bottom line, the facts don't lie. The SEC's record against non-SEC Top 25 teams show that they really might not be as good as everyone thinks they are. That, coupled with the fact that the "power" schools in the SEC schedule ZERO to tier opponents makes me think that it's pretty easy for them to get great non-conference records and look great going into conference play.

You seriously believe that any of those schools down there would stand a chance against Ohio State, Michigan, or USC?? Ohio State has beaten the #2 team in the country TWICE this year. Michigan lost to the #1 team in the country by 3 points. USC has done everything listed above. What quality wins can you think of that the SEC has other than wins against other SEC teams?? Not really any spring to mind.

SEC=extremely over rated.

Another example of why sports writers and personalities aren't always right...should Notre Dame have EVER been rated in the Top 5 this year?? Should they be going to a BCS game?? Both of those are pretty much a resounding "NO," yet Notre Dame was in the Top 5 several times this year, and will probably be going to a BCS game to get their asses stomped again.

wow, this is my kinda crowd. everywhere you go you get people going nuts over the sec.

the sec's biggest OOC win this year is CAL. cal sucks, btw. and this is for the ENTIRE conference. you can't beat each other up and say you are good if you don't have any point of reference.

EXACTLY.

The only "point of reference" (and I like the way you used that) is a 36 point loss to USC.

And I think...by losing to an un-ranked opponent...USC showed us how tough they are on Saturday...

Maybe they will get a chance to play michigan in The Rose Bowl

Maybe they will get a chance to get their asses absolutely destroyed in the BCS Championship game.

as a michigan fan, obviously i want a shot at the title. but winning a title and having a loss to osu would suck. so i'm happy with the rose bowl. and i just can't wait to see florida get clobbered.

I guess we will see how many teams from which conferences get bowl bids and how many win. Wonderful thing about history...it's never wrong

Then we will see which conference is the toughest.

SEC has 8 teams in bowls...Big ten has 7...pac 10 has 6
