Default Shani Davis

Is anyone else not impressed by this little fucking taint at all? It's disgusting that we have assholes like these representing us in front of the entire world. There was his attitude problem after he took gold in the 1000, then he accuses that Chad Hedrix guy of not being a 'team player' when he was the one that shafted the US out of that other event (the pursuit). What a moron.

The team player comments came from Hedrick and former skater Eric Heiden, among others; and were about Davis, not Hedrick. I can't understand why anyone thinks Davis had a duty to skate with a team he hadn't trained with in an event he had never done that took place only one day before his primary event.

I certainly don't think he was obligated to race the team pursuit. Sure, it would have been cool if he did but he wasn't ready for it. Hedrick complained that they missed out on a medal because Davis didn't join in... how exactly were they going to win the medal just by participating? Other teams actually trained and prepared together to coordinate their efforts.

The finger pointing didn't begin until earlier today when Davis called out Hedrick at the press conference. He was very immature and claimed that Hedrick wasn't a team player because he didn't congratulate/shake his hand/hug Davis after he won the gold. I wonder if Davis consoled the pursuit team when they lost?

I don't care if he wanted to save his energy or whatever, it is his choice to make, but he shouldn't be surprised when people call him selfish.

Nice attitude Shani. Did you see his interview with what's her name after he won gold? You would have thought he just returned from a funeral.

I guess he's been listening to too much Bryant Gumbel lately...

This was mainly what I was talking about. He pretty much just ignored her, gave her some half assed answers and didn't even fake being happy. Like he was too good for it or something.

There are 2 sides to it. The U.S. Olympic committee never supported Davis in any fashion. Never supported his training, nor was he invited. The U.S. Olympic committee trains the team pursuit group.

I don't think he's a nice guy, but, they are all childish idiots.

i think they both could have and should have held themselves to a higher standard. if you want to talk about being a team player it extends farther that just the 3 other racers in pursuit, the 18 other sppedskaters and the rest of the US olympians. its extends to the people who pay for your training and hoot for you at home. i don't thik either of them represented the team (american) very well.

i think Shani acted like an asshole after winning the 1000. regardless of the media bashing he recieved, deserved or not, for not competing in team pursuit he should have acted like a professional. i think hedrick acted like an asshole in general. i don't think hedrick gave a damn about him being a team player. i think hedrick saw 5 medals and was only thinking of himself. i think, him being the team captain, should have acted like more of a professional and kept his feeling out of the media. i think he should have congratulated Shani after he won the gold the same way shani did him. that is being a team player.

its a shame this drama over shadowed the games. it worked out well for Bode miller though. the more they talked about these two they we heard about him.

anybody catch freestyle skiing? thta Belarus Skier got fucking robbed.
