That's nuts.
I was at a Flyers game vs. Penguins a few years ago, and the whole place erupted. Every player, and the goalies were goin' at it. Then some fans started fighting each other. It was wild.

yep... you could guarentee that if you watched a penguin game there would be at least one fight... now~adays your lucky if you see someone throw a check!

That's why hockey is such an awesome sport. I don't understand why it is so unpopular in this country. Probably because of the Canadian connotation.

No... it's because there's not as many americans that are good at it as there are people from other countries... If America isn't the best at it they don't want to know... Just look at soccer!!!

Yeah I look at soccer all the time and all I see are a bunch of euro pussies with bad teeth and short shorts trotting around on a field playing a cute noncontact sport. To me that isn't interesting at all.

And screw the international level. We are big enough to have professional sports in our own country and still keep it interesting. We have plenty of talent in the NHL, people just don't want to watch it. Yeah we tend to be the best at things, I'll admit that, but just because this country as a whole isn't interested in hockey doesn't make us bad at it. Moving right along; it would be nice if rugby was more popular here too.
