So was Mike Tice of the Vikings and Mike Martz of the Rams. What's up with all the Mike's losing their jobs???
Personally, I think Sherman deserved another year in Green Bay. It was the Packers first losing year since he'd been there, and the Pack was decimated by injuries. I think if anything, their losing season can be blamed on the GM Ted Thompson for not bringing in suitable replacements. Instead, the coach gets the axe. Sad, sad. The worst part about it all is Brett has already said he's old and joked he can't learn a new offense. This may seal the deal for him, and Sunday was quite possibly his last game ever. Sad, sad (again).
I'm surprised Mike Tice and Dick Vermill. Those two I didn't expect to lose (or give up) their jobs. Typical sports fallout. They simply didn't meet expectations I guess. I'm just wondering about Tice. He should've kept his.

Dick Vermil didn't get fired. He retired. Dude is 69 years old. Time to hang it up. The other three - Mike Tice, Sherman and Martz were all fired, though.
Maybe the Packers will pick up Steve Mariucci. He was fired earlier this year by the Lions, and he's Brett's former QB coach. Might be the only way Brett will stick around for another season. He knows that West Coast offense, after all.

That's why I said "give up". Dick Vermil "gave up" his job; or retired, in other words. I'm surprised. I think the Cheifs could do something next year.
