Default College bowls

Anyone else think there are too many college football bowls? Last time I counted there were 28 bowl games this year.

Well said.

Did anyone catch the endings to either bowl games last night (12-28)? Boise State made a good run to try to catch back up with Boston College, but just couldn't quite make it. I thought after that punt return for a touchdown that they were maybe going to pull it off.

And then Nebraska kicked it in at the end of the game and took the lead ove Michigan. Their defence was pretty awesome all game. Then Michigan ALMOST scored a touchdown on the very last play of the game. They had something like 60 yards to go to get the touchdown and with only 2 seconds to play. They threw a short pass, then ended up tossing 8 (YES EIGHT) lateral passes or pitches, but them fumbled/dropped a lateral and the ball hit the ground. Nebraska rushed the field thinking the game was over, but the ball was actually still in play because of the lateral. Michigan picked up the ball, made one last pitch and took off down the field. At about the 12 yard line there were 2 Nebraska backs that stayed at home that knocked the Michigan runner out of bounds and saved the game winning touchdown. If those guys would have started celebrating with the rest of their team, Nebraska would have lost. Quite a thrilling finish to a good, good ball game. Too bad the officiating really sucked in that game.

Never too much football but when you run into who the BCS selects as #1 then you need to question the way it's set up. I'd like to see some sort of playoff system. I don't think you really need ALL those bowl. Come'on the "Sheraton Hawaii Bowl" did anyone watch that or even knew it existed?

If football is on TV, I am watching it. I don't care who is playing. Any football game is better than watching baseball or basketball.

I do think the college teams need a playoff system. It doesn't need to include that many, just the top 8 teams in the rankings. It would only take three weeks or four if they allowed a week to prepare for the final game. Every football leage has a playoff system, heck even my peewee football when I was 9years old had the playoffs.

Every year I say there are too many bowls. Then every year it seems like I end up watching everyone of them.

You start out motorcycling with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

+1 The playoffs would be a great replacement to the BCS. If they want to add extra games to the season thats fine. But they need to have a system that rewards the good teams and leaves the bad teams home.

Orange Bowl was the BEST game I have ever seen---ever! Oh, and to the families of the miners rescued today--Hug them hard, and my heart is lifted at the news.
