wtf is wrong with people these days, first I watch a guy get run over by a truck, then I see some crazy mx buy ride around a massive pit, now I see 4 guys in a sphere just testing how long they can go before ending up a bloody pool on the bottom.

Nothing is different from people "these days" to people long ago. DareDevils will take risks. The difference is in the technology that allows people to place their antics on the web for everyone else to see.
I think its cool. I'm not into recording the things I do, and I wouldn't do anything that risky (usually). However, I have plenty of good stories, and I enjoy doing things other people think are insane or they're too scared to do themselves.

I just finished watching "The Man Who Skied Down Everest"
Shot in the mid 70's, a documentary of a Japanese skier who went to Everest and skied down some 6000ft from nearly 26,000ft before falling and stopping his fall 250 ft from a crevasse. People in "the zone" have always pushed their own personal boundaries - even when seemingly beyond the capabilities of ordinary people the call is mesmerizing.
