it looks to be a lot of speculation to me, yes street racing is dangerous, but it probably accounted for less then 10 percent of those 43k deaths.
if only people put that much effort into making their lives useful in society.
more than that...how many fatalities were "street racers" running from the cops...
if there were more old runways or something long flat and smooth for the drag crowd and some twisty loop for the left and right crew maybe there wouldnt be as much on the street...who knows...

Some kid probably made that video as "extra credit" for his school.
I grew up street racing in the inustrial areas south of Seattle back when this dude was probably still carrying a Power Rangers lunch box to school. Back then we knew that if the police showed up, they would simply ask us to leave so there was no "mad scramble" to get out.
