Default Some wheelie on my Turbo ZX6R

Still trying to figure something out about my clutch. Breaks loose above 10-11 psi now. Being a 636 it has more power on 10 psi than it did with 15 and 600cc..Turbo spools quite a bit quicker now too. The first half of the video was when it was a 600 and I was messing around with my cams...it was spooling later than normal and not as much power. Pretty much full boost by 6000rpm now.

Finally learned to "ride" wheelies on it too and now that I can do it it's actually pretty good. I'm no stunter... I could 12 and highchair but learning to wheelie this thing was like learning from scratch again cause of the slight lag.

Hight quality:

You need to have the divx plugin to view.

If anyone has problems with divx, here's a crappy myspace vid:

Im sorry nothing displaces displacement, putting a turbo on a 636 vs just buying a liter bike is putting a dress on a pig....its still a ugly pig

Yup that's exactly where it is. Small world!

I got an r1 and a 929...

Displacement or not, it still kills both of them and way more fun to ride than any of my bikes.

Besides I didn't do it to set record times at the strip.

I just like that bike and just did it for the hell of it. And it's sort of a testbed for my future projects. Turbo Busas and 1000s are everywhere. You don't see a lot of 600s.

Besides, it's only $4k for the turbo stuff anyway. That bike alone is worth probably less than $1k.

I'd say I'll probably keep it forever

Great sound on your bike all around.

Is that a bolt on turbo or did you have engine work done also? How's the low end?

And what the hell does it feel like at 9k when the turbo spools?

No..it's far from bolt on. Had to fabricate pretty much everything.

As far as the engine...

stock 95 crankcases, 636 clutch, transmission, clutch cover, bored to a 636 with 636 pistons, 2002 head with some slight modifications to make the 636 intake manifolds work with it, stock 95 cams(till I get my adjustable ones reground) , 636 throttle bodies, standalone fuel injector computer, some tank modification to make it work with the fuel injection system, lowered compression. That's about it.

The bottom end...it sucks - thanks to kawasaki's insane cam duration. There's not much below 4500. As soon as you're over 4500, instant power. But there's still more than plenty and 600s don't spend a whole lot of time under 4500 anyway.

As I mentioned, in the tankcam shots was when I was messing around with my cam timing so the power came on late and wasn't as much power as normal. Right now, it's got full boost at 6000. How does it feel? FUN Power wheelies in 3rd as if you were clutching it in 1st.

Nice work and I applaud you building something on the cheap that hauls ass. I wish I had your fabrication skills...

Thanks guys!

Yup eclipse intercooler. Had to cut about an inch off the bottom to make it fit under the cowl. Not sure if I ever get to painting the plastics for it.

if I had the time and $ to do this, I would def spend a summer learning to fabricate and install a turbo on a 6. sounds like a fun project.
