i got no excuse for that one!
we'd choreographed the passes ahead of time. i'm much, much faster through there than he is (the tighter and more technical it gets, the better i am). i'd told him that when i pass him, that i was going to check-up and let him come back around me...
downhill, 15mph decreaser riddled with bumps = bad place to trail brake through pretty firmly... i was holding a tighter line than usual through that turn (and going slower than normal too) that way he could come back around me on the exit.. well..i didn't know there were ~1" ripples on the pavement right there.
whoops. my bad. riding hard and taking unusual lines is just asking for it. my fault 10000%.
ended up getting my right rear-set going clean through my boot and into my foot. kinda sucked. he rode me back in on the back of his bike while he went to get his van to pick up my bike. i'd have ridden it home (as it was a minor get-off) if it weren't for my bleeding and crushed foot.
