Default Anyone know anything about helmet cams?

Got a new camera and want to get a helmet cam. I've checked a bunch of website and can't find anything on if my camera will work with one or not. The only video input it has is a 4pin dv connection. Do they make helmet cams with an end to fit that?

actually the helmet cams that you mount and attach to a camcorder arent all that hot unless you want to spend $3000 on one. If you got a nice camcorder your better off getting a tank mount for a camcorder and using that.

There's a site called "bulletcam" or something like that. A guy in san diego has these cameras he uses on his bike. I'm sure if you email him he'll be able to help you out.

I have a camera from helmetcamera.com. Works with all three of my camcorders. Why don't you just call them to confirm it will work with your camera.

I also directly mount the camcorders to the bike using a mount from sportbikecam.com. Both approaches have +/-'s.

Advantage to the helmetcam approach includes working with any bike, the viewer looks where you look, kinda cool seeing the bike move underneath you, recording above the screen. Downsides are a spaghetti network of cables, limited lens/filter options, fisheye kinda viewing perspective... riders in front appear further away than they really are.

I use a JonesCAM lipsick camera
http://www.jonescam.tv

I can mount it to my helmet, the bike or anywhere with velcro. The camcorder stays hidden in the tank bag. The results are good but the set up is a big pain, there is a gazillion cables to hook up, a few menus to go though to set up for recording.
