GPS Mount
I figured this would be the place to ask...
I'm looking at several different GPS units for use on long rides in areas I'm not familiar with. A lot of them include velcro mounts, but is this even a good idea? I imagine the vibrations and bumps would quickly turn a $300 GPS unit into road debris.
Thanks, what type of GPS do you have mounted? I'm looking at a Garmin GPS 5, and I'm wondering how I'm going to attach it if I do end up getting one.
I have the Garmin GPS 3+ which is the same size as the 5. The 5 is a very nice unit (my bro-in-law has one). One day I will upgrade to a 5, but for now my 3+ suits me just fine.

I have a Garmin GPS V and was thinking of just using cable ties to strap it to my fairing stay... (I know cheap, huh)

The act of riding is a form of meditation, because the concentration that's required to safely ride a motorcycle tends to focus the mind in a way that eliminates other mental distractions that might interfere with the mission. This creates a single-mindedness that, in effect, displaces the continuous stream of thoughts that normally flow through our consciousness.
