Road Trip to Road America

I'm heading over to Elkhart Lake, WI for the Superbike Races this weekend. The route I've planned out is US12 West to US41 North to IL137 North to WI32 North to WI57 North to WI23 West to WI67 North.

Does anyone have experience with any of those roads? Any suggestions of alternate roads that will take me through Illinois and Wisconsin that are interesting?

If you are planning to go though Chicago, it’s going to be a long, boring with heavy traffic ride. I haven’t done this but people take the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee or to Manitowic to avoid the Chicago mess and save themselves a few hours.

I don’t know the other roads, I think I’ve been on 57 it’s straight, but 67 is nice towards Road America.

Yah, we looked at the ferry. We decided against it this year. I guess this ride will teach us the hard way.
