Default Reno-Monterey Yosemite-Cedar City

MotoGP USA draws near....I'm looking for route info.

1. Reno to Monterey.
Going 395 down to Ebbets Pass or Sonora pass. Then down 49 and then over to 152 Los Banos then 156 towards Monterey. Which is better, Ebbets or Sonora( rt 4 or rt 108)? Is Los Banos hwy(152) a good way to get across the valley? Should be able to this in 8hrs?

2. Heading back, Yosemite to Cedar City Utah.
Not leaving Monterey untill Monday am. Make my way back to Yosemite and then camp near Toulumne Meadows(east side of Yosemite). Then out to Tonapah and on to Cedar City. Am I insane trying to get from Yosemite to Cedar City in one hot blistering day mid July? Looks to be about 470 miles.

any suggestions greatly appreciated....

I haven’t been to that corner of California yet, so I have no advise on roads.

When I tour I usually try to stay within 300-400 miles per day if all the roads are very twisty and 400-500 miles per day if some roads are twisty, and some straight and/or if I'm riding interstates.

So what are your road choices for the following day leaving Cedar City? Zion NP, Bryce Canyon, 12, 24 and my favorite 95 are all on the way to Colorado. Will you be riding any of them?

yep, that's the route along southern Utah. Probably camp out near Torrey or Blanding, then next day camp near Lake City on 149.

Check www.ridensc.com and ask some of their members. They've got an Ebbets route and maybe a few others they do for Sunday rides. They should be able to help you out.
