Looks like a great time...I get my bike from my mechanic later today, and the weekend is looking like good weather...What a perfect place to spend my first weekend of the season...Thanks for the directions, I took a look at mapquest the other day too. I don't like 94 west to Madison, has too many body jarring bumps, in both lanes. Anyway, thanks....maybe I'll see you there, look for a blue and black zx7r hauling ass through the twisties...

Riding out to Baraboo or anything out West of Madison and North West of there is a blast. I lived in Madison for 3 yrs and LOVED the rides I took.
The Natchez ride in Tennessee is great. Haven't taken the entire route but enough to know I want to go back. As for Spring Green, it's also a great place to ride. Not over crowded with riders. Also for those that are close to Minneapolis, you can go over to the WI side through Prescott and take the alphabet roads there.. WOW! AA is unbelievable! Have to watch it tho, alot of blind corners.
For anyone that wants all over nice roads, here in Ky it's unreal. I'm less then a 1/4 mile to some roads that have switchbacks for 8-10 miles or more. God I love this state! It's a riders dream!

Actually, I do know of someone who got altitude sickness riding through there. Everyone else was fine. As for the gas station situation, just take a BMW K1200LT..then you can go for a bajillion miles before you need to worry about that.

In Wisconsin the Holy Hill area and North and South Kettles are great.
I think the best kept secret in Wisconsin is Bluff Rd going out of Whitewater. Bluff Rd is crazy twisy, and Nature Rd, which intercepts it is like a rollercoaster encased in concrete.

If only you could see nature rd on a topographical map. Dont get me wrong, Bluff is twisty and lots of fun, but nature road seriously is like a rollercoaster. The hills are so steep, the only way you can tell which way they go when you are nearing their peak is to look at which way the power lines are heading. And its just one hill after another, its insane in my Ford Focus, I cant imagine what it would be like on a bike.
Here is a pic. The white line between the two red dots is Nature Rd. It looks straight because it mainly is, its just unimaginably hilly. If you start on the top red dot, drive to the bottom one, and then head west towards Whitewater, you are in for a treat.

they are some great roads, and I believe they are in the magazine because one of the veterans of CycleWorld is Peter Egan, a Wisconsin native. So that's probably where he headed when he didin't want to leave the state to find some good twisties. Egan's usually at the Crud Run, although I've never seen him, probably cause I don't know what kind of bike he rides and what he looks like exactly. Actually I'm pretty sure he rides mostly Ducatis.
