Talking demo fjr1300 at daytona

Did the demo day thing at Daytona, rode fjr1300 with passenger.
Very nice bike, smooth, power, handling and cool adjustable screen .
Does seem like it's geared high, I never got out of 3rd......

Some people will tell you that slow is good
-- and it may be, on some days
-- but I am here to tell you that fast is better.
I've always believed this, in spite of the trouble it's caused me.

Did they have the Non ABS or ABS model?

I have had about a dozen sold at the dealership I work at and see people buying both.

I was just wondering what is the advantage or dis-advantage of the ABS.

I still cant believe Yamaha still plays there special order with this bike. Ohh well I guess it keeps smaller dealers from leftovers.

Good ques. All the demo's were ABS, but I didn't really want to test it...
It adds weight, which doesn't really matter on the FJR.
If I bought one I would probably go without ABS because the brakes have
good feel and just one less thing to break over time. Hard decision though..

Since it was about 70 and breezy I didn't notice any heat at all. May have
been due to weather conditions........

Well the only bikes my wife has ridden were yzf600r and gxsr750.
She never liked motorcycle riding because of that. After the ride on the
FJR different story, she wanted to know when I would buy one...
