I agree. I'm using one of each. Well , actually a BT014, not 010.

Major bummer on my trip last week. I had almost 2000 miles on my BTO20 rear and liked the tire a lot, but got a nail in it on the second day of my trip. Since we were planning on riding about 2,500 miles that week I had to get it replaced. The local dealership in So Cal didn’t have a great selection of tires in stock, I ended up with a BTO12 on the back.
I really wanted to see how many miles I was going to get out of the BTO20, I guess now I’ll never know

Someone mentioned they find Bridgestones cup. I haven't had an issue with this since a tire tech told me to always run max rated pressure unless I'm on the track.
Haven't cupped a tire since.

+1 on max tire pressure, especially if you riding in hot tempatures. I love Bridgestones 010, 020. I have gotten 10,000 out of a set of 010. The 020 are good, but not as good as the 010. The 014 is too much of a performance tire to last as a ST tire, I was only getting 4000 out of the rear and about 7000 out of a front. On the Duc I have the OEM Pilots, they are okay, take a little longer to warm up, seem good in the wet or dry.

I just switched over the Mich Road Pilots after just getting rid of my set of 208s. I was worried about going to a sport/touring tire at first until I scrubbed them in. They are just great to me. I've put about a 1000 miles on them so far and no complaints. I've been doing all of my touring on a 04 f4i.

Metzeler Z6s on my ZZR1200 now; ~3000 miles on them and they still look like new. Good grip, work great in the rain too. Love 'em.

WOW... I have been running Z6's also. The mileage for me seems to depend on how hot it is out. Now that it is fall (or sort of, cooler temps now) I have on my current set 7K. Still lots of tread showing. During the summer here in California, it can get to be around 100+'F, my Z6's were getting around 4K.

I run 020s on the rear of my Busa, usually get 9-10K out of them. I keep the stock BT56 on the front, change it every other rear. I keep them aired up.

I'm running a set of Michelin Pilot Roads.
They seem alright for handling an wear, and have a nice round profile and good feel. On my 9R, the rear end spins up easily from a standstill if I take off hard. You really have ot respect the throttle when pulling away while makeing a 90 degree turn. I run stock pressures and don't get enough heat in them and don't ride aggresive enough to reguarly find their limits. Definitely not as grippy as a M1 or D208. I'm reminded quickly if I push them much as they clearly communicate that they are starting to slide. I predict the front will last 15,000 miles and the rear around 8000 miles.

I need to get new tires for my '97 Bandit 1200S. It looks like y'all like the Avon 45/46s and the Metzeler Z6 Road Tecs... is there one that is preferred over the other? The cost is identical and it looks like they're both getting good reviews. Getting caught in a snow storm with the Z6s puts them over the top. Anyone who's had both care to comment on which one is better? I'm not an aggressive rider. My primary concern is durability and wet/snow traction. I ride in the winter, so getting caught in bad weather is certainly a possibility. Thanks!
