The only thing that I know for sure is that myself and a couple friends will be riding up to Sturgis in August. Other than that, I don't know for sure. I usually make a yearly trip up to the mountains in Colorado each year, but we're having our house built this spring/summer, so that is probablly going to take priority over most of the extended motorcycle trips. Well, all of them except Sturgis.

I’m currently working on my schedule for 2005. Trying to figure out how much touring I can cram in to two weeks of vacation, various holidays and the x-mas company shut down. So far it’s looking like this:
End of March 4 days Arkansas
MDW 3-4 days Kentucky and West Virginia
June 4-5 days Colorado (maybe, but I doubt it)
End August though LBW 9-10 days Vermont and New Hampshire. Also touring through IN, OH, PA, NY.
December 7 days Southwest Texas
Plus many, many weekend rides to Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota

the only one I know about right now is that I'm going to Red River NM for a bike rally over Memorial Day Weekend. Thats only about a 4 hours ride, but it's my first season (other than this winter, but I've racked up 1900 miles so far since Nov. ) so I'm not gonna push too far unless I feel a little more comfy.

The only one I have planned so far is a 4 day trip from Ann Arbor, MI though Canada and back across the "big mac", a circle tour of Lake Huron. It should be pretty interesting. It includes 4 bridges (Bluewater, Little Current, Sault Ste Marie, and the big mac), and 1- 2 hr ferry ride across Lake Huron from Tobermory, ON to Manitoulin Island, ON. It should be around 1000-1200 miles.

ah, that sounds cool. I wondered if you'd be taking the Chichimon (or however they spell it). If you went around 4th or July you could check out the bike rally at Parry Sound Biker Rally

Why yes we are planning on taking the Chechemon, I have taken it once before in my cage and it was pretty cool.
I had no idea that Parry Sound has a bike rally, but we will be going thru the week after the 4th, bummer. Not that we would have alot of extra time anyways.
If I would have looked at the website first I would have noticed that it is the same weekend that my group will be going thru. Although we won't be that far west, once we land on Manitoulin Island we will be heading north towards Espanola and then on to Sault Ste Marie. Thanks for the info though, maybe I can schedule something for next year.

let me know when you finalize on VT / NH and if you want maps or road tips.

Cool. I’ve actually started mapping out the route already to see how many days I will need for the trip. I’ll let you know what I come up with.
no problem. my pals (bunch of Triumph riders and assorted other Euro-trash) do a great weekend in Northern VT / NH in June. I have a pretty slick roue and also some good places to stay / eat. Also roads "not to be missed" if you end up out here. Give me an idea of the amount of time you have and where you'd like to enter / exit the state. If you use Streets & Trips I can send you a file, or Garmin Map Source, I can send you route planning too.

Sweet. I do use a Garmin GPS but dislike the mapping software.
I do all my planning in MS Streets & Trips. If you have a S&T file with a route I could use it for planning purposes. I’ll PM you with my e-mail address.
The weekend in June, is that a Triumph RAT event by any chance?

Where are you planning on going in AR, might be able to give you some tips.
By the way, love this thread. Just back into riding last summer after too long. Did some weekend trips with one 4 day up to Eureka Springs. This thread has given me a lot of ideas for this spring and summer, plan on doing a lot riding. Have a Ninja 500, but has worked out great for me so far. Here is a pic from my Eureka Springs ride. At Mount Magazine, the highest point in AR.
