Default Touring comfort on 2002 ZX-6

I plan to do more longer-distance riding on my 2002 Kawasaki ZX-6 and I'm looking for some advice on how to make the trips more comfortable. I have good summer and winter clothing, but my butt and legs get sore after a long ride. I have been thinking about having my stock seat fitted with gel and/or trying to find highway pegs. However, I don't want to impact my 'sport' riding with my alterations. Can anyone out there tell me what they've done to stay more comfortable on this terrific bike?

BTW, I'm a male in my forties, about 5'8", 150 lbs.

Seat is a good place to start and then move on to rear sets if you wana spend the cash bar risers are a good investment also and don't take much if any away from the handleing of a bike that i have noticed also a diffrent windscreen and your set and that pretty much covers everything that you can do good luck and have fun

WOW............First complaint on comfort I have ever heard about the ZX6E (ZZR600)

Seriously not poking fun. But compared to other rides the E is unmatched in comfort.

Enjoy the E!

Ibuprofen is the key to long distance riding comfort on any bike. 600 milligrams an hour before you start and 400 milligrams at every gas and/or food stop keeps me comfy and happy all day. Being comfy and happy makes me alert and I can enjoy a spirited pace on twisty roads all day if I wish to.

According to the post as written. The ZX6 is presumed to be the ZX6E (US & CANADA). Made from 1993 - 2003 or the ZZR 600 as sold in Eurpoean & Asian markets from 1990 - 2003. ALL ZX6E's are under the ZZR 600 nameplate for 2004 and on in ALL markets.

If the bike he refers to as a ZX6 is really the ZX6R (ZX6G/H/I). Then being "specific" is of great importance with KAWASAKI's. Just a letter difference in model number can create HUGE parts differences.
