Speed TripleTo become a true icon is no easy feat. But from its very first incarnation over a decade ago the Speed Triple assumed just that status, mixing a primal three-cylinder core with sporting ability and an aggressive, stripped-down stance.
I am changing out my front tire but would like some input as to how the 2001 S3 front axle is removed. I dont know what to make of the left side as it appears I am supposed to insert some type of pin while I loosen the axle from the left side (facing the bike head on that is). Please offer yer input

Can't speak specifically for the 2001, but if you don't get any answers, I can see what the service manual says for the 2007.... in case it's the same.
Not to point you away from here, but you might also try...
thsnks, somehow I managed. Who would have known it is the same concept as my old Buell. The speedo thing threw me off for a bit though. thanks anyway, I have been looking for more Triumph forums.
thanks Kevin. you have 5 old s3's?? How did you manage to swing that?
BTW, I busted the plastic brcket that holds the speedo sensor to the wheel. I over torqued the little phillips screw

They are actually all Daytonas, but the Speed Triple is pretty much identical but missing fairings.
And i only have 4 complete bikes, and the frame, engine, and some other misc. parts to the 5th.
I have an extra speedo sender if you need one. But what bracket are you talking about? The one that connects the cable to the sending unit? You just need a new speedo cable if that is the case.

Who knows what I need now, my speedo wont register any speed. I pulled the cable from the sensor by the front wheel and noticed the little slotted end was not spinning when I spun the front wheel. So, so far I have eliminated everything from the cable up. this weekend I will have a better look.
