REQUEST: MaxVision Pinlock vs Arai Dual Pane

I have a Arai RX-Q and was curious about the differences between the following:

The MaxVision Pinlock

Arai SAI Max Vision Pinlock Clear Shield Visor 1131 from GPhelmets.com USA Arai Helmets Dealer (visor)
Arai Max Vision Insert Dark Smoke 1131-S from GPhelmets.com USA Arai Helmets Dealer (insert)

or the Arai Dual Pane

Arai SAI Dual Pane Dark Tint Rain Shield Visor 1122 from GPhelmets.com USA Arai Helmets Dealer

The Arai looks cleaner I believe (if you have a tinted or coloured insert in the MaxVision pinlock, there is a clear border around it)

However, with the Arai, you lose the ability to swap out inserts. The smoked Dual Pane doesn't look too dark though, so I don't think it would be too bad when the sun goes down.

Can anyone share their opinions and advice on the two? I guess it really comes down to which works better. They are essentially the same price.

Thanks

The Arai 100% Max Vision visor + Pinlock insert is an interchangeable system. It is possible to replace the clear Pinlock insert for coloured lenses. It is also easy to clean. The Arai Dual Pane is a race visor, designed for racing. This is permanent system.

I hope this answers your question. If you need more information, just send an e-mail to info@pinlock.com

a while back i asked about this piece and nobody had 1, so i ordered it.

$100 for the screen is pretty pricey, vs $50 for a reg. screen

but a pinlock screen is $35

its a bit thicker then a reg. screen so you don't want to be taking this thing off and on, also no brow vents. harder to latch to cuz of the thickness

anyways, this morn was the first time i got to try it

39 deg.

i works GREAT! no fogging what so ever.

no hint of fogging at all

there's a thick rubber seal at the top to prevent water from coming down inside the shield also , i;m sure it'd work great

wished i had it last week when it was cold and foggy.

rubber seal

thickness

only wish it came in dk smoke vs light.

but yes i would recommend this piece of kit, just leave on the lid all winter long
