I posted a link to a place that will re-sole Sidis. Search on it here.

Vertigo Airs here, they are comfortable enough for me to wear to work and around for a day; I wouldn't pick them if I were *planning* on walking a lot.

If the Vortice, or the Puma or other "ski boot" styles attract you, be sure that the boot allows you to ride comfortably. The Pumas actually push my foot off the peg due to their thickness in the shin area; kept me from buying them.

I have the Vertigos. Definitely a race/canyon boot and not an everyday boot. Can't beat the protection. Decent airflow too. But walking for more than a fuel stop isn't fun. A trip across the paddock to the locker/bathroom is the farthest I'd want to walk.

The Typhoon/Canyons/On-Road are MUCH better suited for touring use. I have the Typhoon also, and they're incredibly warm and waterproof. Flip side is you get "zombie apocalypse" feet in the summer.

Something like the B2 is probably more in line with what you want. Sidi B-2 Motorcycle Race Boots :: New Enough, LTD

I know this isn't the boot you were looking for but I own sidi B2s. They are a good and cheap boot that does the job. I don't like to walk around in them tough. Not because they are uncomfortable its because at the end of a track days worth of walking my heel tends to get worn. Plus they squeak. But they have survived 1 low side at the track and my boot was caught under the bike getting ground down. Overall a good boot, like everything you get what you pay for.
