Default Alpinestars Racing Leathers

Hey all

Just thought I would toss this question out and see what I can do. I have recently been given an Alpinestars full racing suit from a friend the only thing is though, its a little too big. It fits perfectly from the waist up and from about mid-thigh down. Im not sure what the actual size is because there is no liner or tags in it. Im a medium build and I can wear a full set of clothes underneath as well as a windbreaker jacket (when its cold). My question is: Can these suits be altered to fit better without compromising the safety and protection these suits give?

Yes. It is probably going to be pricey but I would suggest LizzyLeather Motorcycle Racing leathers repair, lettering and dealer of Vanson Leathers for alterations.

I know some other people know of other sites, but thats the only one I know of.

The price really depends upon how much work it really needs. We use Welcome to Spyder Leatherworks Alexa does some fantastic work. I have seen many repairs and alterations she has done, the results are incredible.

Yes, suits can be altered to fit better as well as repaired. I'd suggest finding a shop in your area if possible. There's nothing better than the tailor seeing you in the suit and suggesting the mods.

Thanks for the info. I was afraid I would sound like an idiot because of my unfamiliarity of racing leathers. I ride up in the mountains here and to work and back. I've never been on a track although I would love to run down to Road Atlanta just for kicks. Maybe when it warms up I can get some pics posted. The area here in N Ga has some great riding.
