Question Inexpensive Full-Length Boots

Hey everyone. I'm new to riding and will go through MSF BRC in October.

I thought of getting cheap 20-dollar work/hiking boots just get by the MSF course but I decided to buy full-length boots from the get-go.

Now I know a lot of famous-brand boots go above $150 and they offer great protection.

But I was wondering if I could get cheaper ones ($100 & under), like the ones I found below, and still be fine?

I'm very new to riding and won't be riding on the track, in bad weather, or doing stunts. I have a car so riding is just going to be my hobby. Safety is my #1 priority, so I'm not gonna be in the speed range to test my bike's limits.

I just need boots to protect me while I practice riding and hone my basic skills.

With that said, please pick your favorite from the below, or if you have other recommendations around the same price or better, throw them at me!

(My size is 8 or 8.5)

The list goes from the cheapest to the most $$.

Vega sport boots - around $60-$70

Xelement SPORT boots - around $60-70, about the same as the above Vega boots
(Don't mix this up with the Xelement "RACING" boots, which is in my next post below)

Another picture of these boots ^^^

M2R Nordic Waterproof Boots - $70

M2R Blade Racer Boots - $70, cost the same as the above M2R Nordic boots

(Edit: Please don't mix up the Xelement "Sport" Boots with the Xelement "Racing" Boots, when referring.
Same goes with the 2 different M2R boots in this post. Thank you.)

I'll be watching this one as well. I have been looking for exactly the same thing - full length boots that aren't going to cost me $300 plus shipping! Hope there are lots of good reccomendations coming...

Yeah I hope so too.

I found these with the other boots up there but didn't want to put them on as one of my choices because I really don't like the colors and "Racing" logo... Just looks bad and cheap, yet it's more expensive.

But maybe some ppl might like them, so here's another choice of boots for $80.

Xelement Racing Boots - $80
(Don't mix this one up with the Xelement SPORT Boots, which I posted in my very first post in this thread.)

(Edit: Please don't mix the Xelement "Racing" Boots with the Xelement "Sport" Boots, when referring.)

Thanks. They don't have my size (8-8.5, or 42) and... I wish my feet were size 46.

Haha, i ordered a pair in red a couple of weeks back, size 9.
They had quite an inventory till last week, seems to have vanished somewhere.
From the reviews, they are apparently best banmg for the buck, see if you can get your hands on a pair from some other portal.

manson.

Motorcycle & Leather Store - Motorcycle Jackets, Helmets, Boots, Biker Chaps, Pants and Saddlebags has those Vega boots and other models for cheap. I got them but I got a size too big (11) and never wear them now.

Lightbulb 50/50 Decision

Alright so I'm narrowing my choices down to the two types of boots by M2R, after searching several hours online and seeing M2R as a more reputable sport bike gear supplier than Vega or Xelement.

I like both, but is Nordic Waterproof boots better or the Blade Racer boots?
(Does ventilation suffer on waterproof boots, or are they still comfortable and don't get too hot?)

I live in SoCal and it rarely rains here and besides, I have a car so I won't be riding in the rain.

Any suggestions?????

Newenough has some good deals on name brand boots. These are mid-level quality boots that are on closeout. I wouldn't trust those no-name brands you listed.... you get what you pay for. They are definitely better than over the ankle hiking boots but they may not fit as well or be as comfortable as higher quaility stuff.

Also, check out this thread I started at TSSB for more gear bargains: Tri State Sportbikes dot Com - Good deals on gear....

I've a pair of these for touring:

SetUp Vision Motorcycle Boots :: New Enough, LTD

I bought some cheap ass "Nitro" boots a while back. I wore them a few times, but they are just terrible. Cheap material and lots of stitching has come apart eventhough ive only put maybe 500 miles on them.

This past winter I bought some Teknic Lightnings on sale, 100x better, I really couldn't be happier. Plus they came out cheaper then the crap nitro's.

The lesson: by something qaulity the first time and save money in the long run. I bought the nitro's cause they fit and it was all i could find locally.

Great to hear from someone who actually used it. I was just looking for something like this post!!!

Thanks!!! I think it's worth putting the money down for the quality stuff to last in the long run. (Rather than paying 50 bucks now and buying 120 later, spending 120 now saves me time and hassle.)
