SIDI Vertigo Zipper pops apart...>_<

So I just got my new "used once" SIDI vertigo's in yesterday.

They fit very well. The decription appears to be true, these things are near mint. But anyway.

I was walking out my my office today fully geared and my right boot zipper pops open.

Has anyone had this happen before? I don't have huge ankles or any outstanding features. From what I could tell the boots fit very well in all areas.

They're getting fixed in the leather shop right now. Pretty disheartening to get boots in one day and have to drop them off the next. Not fun.

I guess I'm asking for any insight as to why this happened and maybe if anyone has had this happen.

Thank you for reading.

No problems with the zipper on my Vertigo Air. Probably why the previous owner was selling them.

I've had a similar problem with my A* Supertech's, but I attribute my issue to heat from the exhaust. Take the boots to a shoe repair shop, have them put a heavier zipper in and you'll be fine.

Just got them back from the shop. Wearing them right now at work actually, trying to break them in some.

They appear to be holding up just fine. 8$ and only one day of waiting, I'm surely going to go back to them for my leather needs. (end advertisement)

Thanks for the replies, it appears this has been remdied.

They aren't made of leather, so good luck with that...

it's close enough to leather to sew it etc..
My sidi's zipper broke also. I tried to get sidi to fix them but they never would answer emails or letters....
makes me want to skip purchasing shit from them in the future.

Yeah, but they don't really break in to any degree - what you get off the bat is pretty much how they stay. I like that, actually, and mine were comfy from the start, so I don't mind.

Mine are comfy too, I just firgured they'd stretch slightly to put a bit less pressure on the part of the zipper. Either way, it seems fine now.

How the heck did you do that? Did you release the ratchet and open the boot up before zipping?

I have the Vertigo Air's and no problems here. On anything with zippers I make it a point to pull both sides together before zipping. I have had my fair share of zippers breaking in the past.
