agv or scorpion
Hi, I'm a new rider and need help deciding on a helmet. I narrowed it down to the agv Stealth and Scorpion exo700. Problem is I've only tried on the Scorpion, and it fit ok, but nobody in my area carries the agv, they can get them in but I would have to pay for it up front. I tried to order both of them from CycleGear near my house, but the price they have is marked up for the agv, at $250.00. I know sportbiketreakgear.com has them at 199.99, but I don't think they will let me order both for me to return one. I'm sorry if this does not make since, I had a few too many to drink.

if the Scorpion fit, get it. I tried some AGV's a few weeks ago, didn't fit my head right.

yeah, but I've read around that the Agv fits odd shaped heads like mine. I really love the way the stealth in black looks!

In this case you're going to have to make a trade-off between buying a helmet without trying it on (not a good idea) and getting the best possible price. Good customer service close to home doesn't come for free.

I would e-mail sportbiketrackgear.com and ask if you would be able to return the one that doesn't fit...

I have the AGV X-R2, Valentino Rossi replica, and I love it. Fits great and little noise at speed. (meaning over 100. )

if you have misgivings about the fit of the scorpion you might want to consider something else. when I bought mine in large the cheek pads were a little snug but i figured theyd break in but when they did it turns out the cheek pads were the only thing keeping the helmet tight now it feels like its to big.

don't buy without trying on. period.
I bought an AGV TiTech a while back after thorough research in what types of heads they fit, looking at sizing charts, talking to AGV experts, etc. Determined that it would be the perfect fit and found the proper size. Spent $400 or so on the helmet and of course, it didn't fit at all. too big in some areas and caused physical pain in others. Honestly, a helmet could not possibly fit my head worse than that one did. It was a really f'in awesome helmet but thats irrelevant if you can't actually wear it.
if the scorpion fits buy it, if not try on some other helmets until you find one that fits

i bought an agv stealth without trying it on. i wear a medium in everything else and a medium agv fits perfect. it is very comfortable also. but either helmet is going to be good so it doesnt matter which one you get

I dont like that you can't crack the visor in the exo700, the first open adjustment on the shield is alot or none at all, other than that the helmet is very comfortable, a bit heavy, but nice

I know how the exo700 fits, but I don't understand why none of the many bike stores in my area stock the AGV, are they not popular? I did try on the Shoei and it seems to fit the best, but I can't spend that much money on a first helmet.

how much was the exo700? I got the crackhead for like 240 shipped
I recently ordered a rf1000 for 350 shipped, 100 bucks really isn't that huge of a difference if it's something that you'll be happier with everytime you gear up

I guess.. I was really looking to spend $200.00, and both the agv stealth and exo700 were at that price range. I guess I'll order the Agv and Scorpion from sportbiketrackgear.com, and return the one that doesn't fit.
