Default Anyone have Shoei and a Suomy/Arai helmet in M?

I'm getting a new helmet. I currently have two size M Shoei's, one beat to hell and one about half way there. They are both TZ series [currently called the TZ-R].

I'm planning on getting the RF-1000, size M, if I get another Shoei. I remember my last shoei fitting nice and tight when I first got it, but it's definitely slightly looser than I'd prefer 3.5 years of daily riding later. My older tz is even looser.

There is no way I can fit in to a size smaller than M with shoei, but I'm wondering if other people have a Suomy or Arai in size M as well as a shoei and can relate their sizing. The only semi-local place that allows you to try on helmets doesn't have much of a selection of higher end units.

I've heard Suomy fits a little tighter in general. I know their are head shapes, padding, etc. to consider but mine is typically considerd "normal" and I'm limited to the

Shoei RF-1000
Arai Vector
Suomy S1R (??)

All solid colors FYI pricing wise. 400+/- is good. Any advice? I'm going to end up defaulting to the RF pretty soon but feel like I might be missing out.

I have a Suomy Spec-1R in size Large, but my Shoei is a RF-1000 and it is a Medium.

I wear a medium in the Shoei RF1000, Medium in the Arai RX7, Medium in Arai Vector, Medium in AGV Stealth, Medium in the Scorpion.

I personally prefer the Arai to the Shoei line. IMO nothing feels like an Arai RX7 helmet. The Vector from Arai fits and feels like the RX7 in many ways.

We have some fantastic pricing for the SBN members on Arai. Call us 1-888-784-4327 and we can get you set up. We also do the Shoei line as well. Still great pricing, I just prefer the Arai.
